The meaning behind my one-word name is embedded in both the sport of cycling and the way I carry myself daily. As an avid endurance cyclist, I have learned that long rides, while also depending on caloric intake, also involve immense internal mental games. During 100+ mile long rides, many cyclists encounter "the dark place" anywhere between mile 50 and 100. No matter how well-conditioned and calories you have taken in, the best thing to do is to just keep pedaling, one push at a time. In school and work, if there is a daunting task with no end in sight (especially one that may be painfully boring), taking it one step at a time and to just keep the effort constant but not excessive is key.
